Copenhagen, Denmark, July 2014

Was super lucky to be rostered the longest ever Copenhagen flight. And coincidentally, it was my first ever longest flight (never get rostered 4-sector before).

Touched down to a very windy and cooling weather in Copenhagen. For this time, we stayed in Bella Sky Hotel. The room was almost IKEA-style concept, simplistic and just the way I like it.

I like the way that a double sized bed has 2 single blankets instead of one. I will always roll the blanket around me like a sardine wrapper when I sleep. Hahaha.

Was thankful to meet a very good set of crew and co-pilots and out we went! Our hotel view from the subway station:

Our first stop: Kongens Nytorv
It's a public square in Copenhagen.. from there we walked to Nyhavn (which means New Harbour). It 's lined by brightly coloured 17th and early 18th century town houses and bars, cafes and restaurants. Even though it was a weekday, we saw a lot of people chilling at the bars and cafes, either chilling with a beer in hand or just stoning.

Pistachio + Chocolate Icecream

Kebabs for lunch-dinner:

Next we went to Church of Our Savior, a baroque church which is most famous for its corkscrew spire with an external winding staircase that can be climbed to the top. The entrance fee is 40DKK. I have fear of heights so I just clinged to the centre of the tower all the time. >< But it shows a 360 degree view of Copenhagen, definitely a thumbs up to go!

From the church, its a short walk to Copenhagen's own red light district Christiania. Tourists are welcome there, but soft drugs are sold there as well. Thus, photo taking is forbidden there.

Afterwards we chilled at a cafe with an authentic Copenhagen beer (Calsberg!) and ended up with another Frankfurter dog (Bacon dog). Basically had this for 4 days straight. ><

The sun sets very late at night (at 2130h) over here, so even though its 1830h it looks like its 1500h.

And so.... next day we went to Tivoli Gardens! Who doesn't like theme parks? Basically I took all the not-for-the-faint-hearted rides until I felt nauseous. Hahahahhaa. I am seriously damn weak.

Here's the famous star flyer. The machine malfunctioned for about 5 mins, while we were on the way down. Literally held my colleague and both of us screamed for 5 mins. Hahahah

Supposed to go to Sweden the next day, but ughh, things happened and in the end we just slacked in ours rooms.

Here's ending off with a group photo!

Istanbul, Turkey April 2014

Someday in April, I was rostered for an Istanbul flight. I was lucky to meet another crew who was going to Istanbul for the first time too! So we kaki-ed up with 2 other crew from another set and off we go for some sightseeing.

The first stop definitely has to be the famous Blue Mosque known as Sultan Ahmed Mosque. It was known as the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorned the walls of its interior. To enter the mosque, avoid wearing revealing clothes such as tank tops, spaghetti straps, shorts and to be safer, I would suggest bringing your own head gear, perhaps a scarf or something. They do provide headgear and some clothes which you have to wear to cover yourself if you are not in the appropriate attire.

Then we moved on to the Grand Bazaar for some shopping! It's located somewhat near to the mosque area, probably another 15-30 mins walk away. The Grand Bazaar is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. They mainly sell textiles, carpets, lamps, shisha and tourist gifts (e.g. keychains, evil eye amulet). We didn't manage to walk the whole place though. We bought our lamps and shisha, walked a bit more and left.

Love the designs of their lamps!!!! Gotta start a collection for my future house if I have one.

Thank you for the great company! (:

Watched, Strike The Blood

Since young, I've been an fan of anime and manga.  But I only watch anime, I do not do crazy things like cosplay or go for those anime or cosplay conventions. So, perhaps I'm a low-level otaku? Hahaha

I stopped watching anime during my university days due to my busy schedule with tuition and school work. Now that I've started working and have more free time on my hands, I started chionging on past season anime. I prefer this as the anime has been completed and I could watch all at one time. As I watched, I realised there are quite a few selections that have the possibility of a second season, but not so near in the future. So I decided to blog about them to remind my future self that "Hey, there's a second season, and I watched the first season which was really good!". So maybe I'll try to do a season summary.

SO, initially I thought "Strike The Blood" would be a similar series to Blood or Blood-C which was really good. But as I watched, the only similarities were the vampire and the need for blood to get power. Minus the small details, I love the storyline!

Credits: Wikipedia

Akatusuki Kojou is an high-schooler living in a part of tokyo named the . Despite how he looks, he is the Fourth Primogenitor—the strongest of all vampires, the herald of impending calamity, and something that should only exist in legends. In comes Himegari Yukina (girl in the picture), who is an attack mage sent by Lion King organisation to keep an eye on Akatusuki Kojou and ensure that he doesn't go berserk with his new powers. Well, this show falls into the genre of "action, fantasy" and with a little bit of romance. The storyline was rather slow-paced in the first part (Episodes 1-12), but as they moved on, the storyline got a bit more interesting and fast-paced.

Let me know how you view this anime if you have watched it too! (:

Sponsored - Hada Labo Perfect Gel (3-in-1 Ultra Hydrating Gel)

I have always been a fan of Hada Labo products, especially after I tried out their Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating series. So I'm extremely happy to be sponsored with Hada Labo Perfect Gel!

As many girls should know, sleep is the best time when the body repairs itself. During these optimal seven to nine hours of sleep, the body is rested both physically and mentally from a day’s activities. As such, many hair, face and body products are most effective overnight as the body absorbs it better.

Thus, Hada Labo has come up with a new product - Hada Labo Perfect Gel to replenish the skin’s moisture while you sleep. Being all essence, cream and mask at once (3-in-1), the Hada Labo Perfect Gel is also suitable for daily use with the ability to provide 24 hours deep moisturizing effect with its five main ingredients.
Let's know more about the ingredients used in Hada Labo Perfect Gel -

(1) 3 Types of Hyaluronic Acid for deep and long-lasting moisturization:
Hyaluronic Acid is able to hold 6L of water per gram, providing intense moisture to the skin when applied.
Super Hyaluronic Acid is able to hold 2X as much water than Hyaluronic Acid per gram, providing maximum moisturization.
Nano Hyaluronic Acid is able to penetrate deep into the skin, providing long lasting and deep moisture to the skin.

(2) Collagen:
As the body’s collagen levels decline, the skin starts to age with wrinkles, large pores and poor skin clarity. The Hada Labo Perfect Gel contains collagen to provide firm, elastic and wrinkle-free skin.

(3) Ceramide:
Skin that lacks ceramide is often dry, irritated, and often easily affected by the sun and dust in air. Hada Labo Perfect Gel help to hold and repair the surface skin cells together for a healthy, smooth skin.

The Hada Labo Perfect Gel has a rich cream texture that is non-sticky, allowing your skin to feel light even after applying. Its versatility and effectiveness has won the hearts of so many women that it is No.1. Sales in ‘All-in-One’ gel product segment in Japan.
Like what it is called, Hada Labo Perfect Gel has a water-based gel-ish texture. Gels have been known to be extremely efficient as a moisturizer.
Grab some from the cap.
Spread it evenly on your face.
Voila! It's completely absorbed into the skin.
Here's my naked look. Hehe.
So I have the product on my face for awhile, and it's awesome! I don't feel much of the product on my face anymore. Seems like it really absorbed into the skin already. Have I mentioned that it has 3-in-1 function? It can be used as an ESSENCE, SLEEPING MASK and MOISTURIZER, all at the same time! How awesome is thisss!!! My only concern is that as a sleeping mask, if I were to use it everyday, it would be too intense for my skin. However, I've used it daily for a few days and my skin seems okay! (:
Here's a photo of me with the product (:

At the same time, guess what I received together with Hada Labo Perfect Gel? It's Panda Eye Mask!
It has a furry texture, thus when you wear it to sleep it will not hurt your eyes, and at the same time protects and keeps your eyes warm. It is also stated that it will improve sleep quality, improve eye circulation, relieve eye stress and fatigue etc.
Basically it's great for me who cannot sleep with any light present. Hehee.

So my takes on Hada Labo Perfect Gel (3-in-1 Ultra Hydrating Gel):

Pros:
Can be used as an essence, sleeping mask and moisturizer
Ultra moisturizing
Absorbs quickly into the skin

Cons:
Open concept, meaning you have to use your finger to "dig" to get the product. Not as hygienic?
Skin-based problems I would have to use longer to see. Hopefully there isn't any other side effects! (:
